ZynxCare Update

The first quarter of 2008 has been a busy one for ZynxCare! Our content list has grown to include 153 plans of care. The newest plans of care focus on the admission workflow and are population-focused. They include: Admission – General, Adult; Admission – General, Neonatal; Admission – General, Obstetric; Admission – General, Pediatric; and Admission – Screening, Adult. These new plans of care can be found within the Patient Problems folder.

In conjunction with creating the admission plans of care, we have also reviewed and streamlined all of the patient problem plans of care, as well as half of the medical condition/procedure plans. This streamlining has resulted in plan-of-care content that is specific to the plan’s topic. The admission plans include content organized for use in initial assessments, as well as routine ongoing assessments and planning. The key purpose of the new admission plans of care and the streamlined plans is to provide content that is organized around the clinical workflow and is easy to customize and use.

As we look to the second quarter, we will continue this focus on usability. The remaining medical condition/procedure plans will be streamlined. We are also preparing for the Zynx Health conference (occurring May 28-30 at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, San Diego, CA). The conference will include a ZynxCare track with a focus on implementation strategies, ZynxCare models of use, and lessons learned from several ZynxCare clients. We look forward to seeing many of you in San Diego!

ZynxCare Tips

Each quarter, we will highlight a different tip to help you ensure your facility is making the most of ZynxCare.

ZynxCare Tip #4:
The Benefits of a Custom Catalog

Custom catalog is a powerful tool to maintain terms not included in the Zynx catalog. The consistency and management of terms is simplified when terms are added in your custom catalog. Furthermore, each term is coded with a unique identifier, which can be imported during integration.

Need help developing your own custom catalog? Contact your client manager or a member of the ZynxCare team. We’ll be happy to help.
